Construction Collective did our downstairs extension three years ago, and our loft conversion this summer. It was an ambitious extension and the roof was pretty complicated, but they made a really beautiful job of it, which is why we went back to them again. Not only is the standard of their work very very high, but they add a lot more to the job than just following plans: they are a really cheerful lot, lovely to be around, and nothing is too much trouble. They have great ideas and have made some brilliant suggestions that have turned something good in to something super stylish. They’ve steered us through some regulatory issues, taken on negotiations with neighbours and generally gone way beyond the brief. There are a lot of guys still in the company three years down the line, so it’s obviously a good company to work for. In such an unreliable industry they have always turned up and always worked really hard (I’m not sure if they actually eat), and it’s really reassuring to know there’s always Alana steering the ship from her office with a big cheerful smile.
